| “Oil and Gas Drilling: From Planning to Production” is a new two-hour documentary developed as a part of our Oil and Gas Boot Camp™
program. It follows the complete drilling of a Barnett Shale horizontal well through planning, site preparation, rig mobilization, drilling, stimulation, completion, well connection, production facilities, and gas transportation and processing. The well was drilled by one of the largest drilling contractors in the US (Helmerich & Payne) for one of the largest independent operators in the US (Devon Energy). The rig used is one of the most advanced land drilling rigs in the industry (H&P FlexRig3).
During the drilling portion of the video, side tutorials are presented on all of the key drilling topics including rig structure, rig systems, drilling fluids, casing and cementing, well control, bits, drill pipe, drilling tools, fishing, directional drilling and well evaluation techniques. The video was shot in high definition and includes graphics, interviews and background music to keep it interesting.
