Course Overview: This 2-day course is for oil and gas company employees and investors who wish to better understand the business and economics aspects of oil and gas.  This course includes basic oil and gas financial reporting; project economics and AFEs; planning, budgeting, and monitoring; major costs and their drivers; working with partners; performance measurement tools; basic legal and regulatory requirements; and key business controls.  The course includes a 1/2 day simulated business exercise in which each attendee will start and run their own oil and gas company and keep track of the results.

Learning Objectives: At the end of the course, attendees should able to understand financial statements, contribute to investment decisions, describe key costs and their drivers, and recognize the value of business controls.

Delivery Method: Live presentation. Small groups. Instructor with strong oil and gas experience.
Prerequisites: None. However, anyone new to the industry would benefit by taking one of our industry overview courses prior to this course.
